Respawn Entertainment has announced today at EA Play that season two of Apex Legends called Battle Charge will release on July 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on PC via Origin. The new season introduces a ranked mode, a new battle pass which will feature daily and weekly challenges, most exciting of all an electrifying new legend to play as and much more.
Apex Legends Season 2 – Battle Charge introduces Natalie “Wattson” Praquette. After growing up around the Apex Area, she brings with her familiarity of Kings Canyon and electrical engineering skills. She uses high-voltage barriers and a pylon that blocks incoming ordinance – if you underestimate her you are in for a shock.
Season 2 also debuts a brand new mode, Ranked 1.0. Players will be matched by skill on their quest to reach the top of six tiers – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Apex Predator. Players will also earn exclusive cosmetics and rewards at the end of each season depending on where they placed.
Apex Legends Season 2 – Battle Charge also brings a new Battle Pass with fresh rewards, special challenges, Legendary skins, three new content categories, the ability to earn crafting metal, and much more! Further details will be released closer to launch.
There is also a new weapon: the L-STAR. It’s an energy machine gun that packs heavy projectiles, but the power comes with a price. Sustained fire will cause it to overheat and stop working briefly, so you’ll need to learn the rhythm to master it.
In the mean time, prove you’re the ultimate predator in the Legendary Hunt in-game event from now till June 18th. Completing time limited challenges will score Rare, Epic and more Legendary skins for both weapons and Legends. Players can also join a new Apex Elite Queue, competing against Apex Legends top competitors to prove they’re the best. To earn your way into the Apex Elite Queue you will need to finish in the Top 5 in any match.
Those attending EA Play in Los Angeles can try out Season 2.
