Activision Blizzard, Inc. and lead developer Beenox have announced that purchasers of the remastered game will be able to take part in free bonus seasonal content, with the Grand-Prix in game offerings post launch. The first Grand Prix kicks off on July 4th in ANZ, and includes a new track for players, karts, unlockable characters and various customisation items.
It was revealed that with each Grand Prix there will be a brand new track, with the first one being Twilight Tour – an epic journey through day and night in the middle east. It was also revealed that Tawna is coming to the CTR universe, as an earnable character in the first Grand Prix. New items and characters will drop in the Pit Stop’s rotation each Grand Prix, with the first season featuring members of the Nitro Squad (formerly known as Trophy Girls). Fans will also be excited to know that Spyro is being inducted to CTR in one of the following two Grand Prix seasons!
Thomas Wilson, Co-Studio Head at Beenox said, “Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was designed to deliver fun in unexpected and exciting ways. The Grand Prix does that by giving players a reason to fall in love with the game over and over again. Crash Team Racing was an iconic game in the ‘90s that influenced how gamers played kart racer games, and we’re thrilled to continue that tradition with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled by introducing new content to players in ways they haven’t imagined yet— the race definitely isn’t over once you cross the finish line.”
Crash Team Racing Nitro-fueled features all the remastered tracks, modes and characters from the original CTR game along with reimagined tracks from the original CNK game, all playable in HD! With the in-game Pitstop and Grand Prix seasons players can race with their earned karts and characters from CNK, as well as content inspired from Crash Tag Team Racing to get the best of the Crash universe! Trick out your ride, complete N.Sane battles, race against friends and frenemies and get lost in adventure mode in Crash Team Racing Nitro-fueled! Launching on June 21st preorder your copy for PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch.
