Patch 4.36 has just hit Final Fantasy XIV, and brings with it collaboration with Monster Hunter: World. Players can challenge the fearsome dragon Rathlos for in-game rewards in both Normal and Extreme difficulties.
Dedicated players who are Level 70 and have completed the ‘Stormblood’ scenario can undertake the brand new ‘The New King of the Block’ quest to face Rathalos in the Great Hunt trial – an eight player battle that also throws in some new mechanics inspired by Monster Hunter World. If you’re mad enough, you can also attempt an Extreme version of this trial, with only half the players but with even more hurdles. The struggles will be worth it however, as you can obtain Monster Hunter: World – themed rewards:
- Rathalos Armor Set
- Poogie and Palico as new Minions
- Rathalos as a new Mount
- A new furnishing in the form of the BBQ Spit
That’s not all. Patch 4.36 also introduces a new chapter in the Forbidden Land Eureka series: The Pagos Expedition. Players will have an all new area to explore alongside the opportunity to strengthen their Eureka weapons and acquire new minions on top of other rewards.
There’s also an exciting season of Final Fantasy XIV Online Fan Festivals to look forward to all over the world, with North America kicking things off on November 16 in Las Vegas. Those in Europe will get the opportunity to join the festivities when the festival hits the La Grande Halle De La Villette in Paris on February 2, before Japan gets involved in March in Tokyo. If you can’t attend these festivals in person, you can be there in spirit by tuning into the live streams available on the official Final Fantasy XIV Online twitch channel: https://twitch.tv/finalfantasyxiv
